Castlecrag Meats is a traditional retail butcher specialising in fresh beef, veal, lamb, pork, chicken and game. We follow the “Paddock to Plate” philosophy by sourcing our meat and poultry from loyal wholesalers who deal directly with the farmers.
All our produce is free range, grass fed and chemical free.
Phillip Mitchell is the fourth owner of Castlecrag Meats which has been serving its local community since 1936.
Phill has been a butcher for the last 20 years and has worked in some of Sydney’s and London’s award winning butcher shops. After returning from working abroad he became co-owner and head butcher of Sydney’s Hudson Meats Cammeray and Lane Cove. In 2011 he worked as the Head Butcher for Justin North at Becasse and Quarter 21 before deciding to buy Castlecrag Meats in 2012.
Phill’s passion for his trade extends to his friendly and helpful team who are extremely knowledgeable in all things meat!
